April 22, 2026 – Loss vs. Middle Creek
Final: Middle Creek 11, Athens Drive 4
Athens Drive ran into a tough Middle Creek squad on Wednesday, falling 11–4 despite a strong defensive effort and steady play in the cage.
The Jags kept things tight early, matching Middle Creek stride for stride in the first quarter. But a big second quarter from the Mustangs created separation, and Athens couldn’t quite claw back.
Offensively, scoring was spread out with Jay Cohn (1G, 1A), Harrison Baublitz (1G), Hayes Clayton (1G), and Oliver Bestimt (1G) each finding the net. Jack Danjczek and Liam Danjczek added assists as the Jags worked to generate opportunities.
On the hustle side, Sam Brewer led the ground ball effort with 6, while Reiter Healey added 4. Liam Danjczek, Hayes Clayton, and Tripp Burney each chipped in 2. Defensively, Healey, Jack Danjczek, and Clayton each caused 2 turnovers, helping slow down a potent Middle Creek offense.
In goal, Gabe Sell turned in a strong performance with 11 saves and a 64.7% save percentage, keeping the Jags within reach through multiple stretches.
