April 10, 2026 – Loss vs. Broughton (OT)
Final: Broughton 11, Athens Drive 10
This one had everything—runs, momentum swings, clutch saves, and a little extra lacrosse under the lights. Unfortunately for Athens Drive, it ended in an overtime heartbreaker as Broughton edged the Jags 11–10.
Athens came out sharp, taking a 3–2 lead after the first quarter and holding steady through a tightly contested first half. The Jags carried a 9–8 edge into the fourth, but Broughton forced overtime and capitalized late to seal it.
Jay Cohn torched the net for 6 goals and 2 assists. Jack Danjczek added 3 goals and an assist, while Liam Danjczek chipped in a goal. Harrison Baublitz and Bradyn Evans each added assists to keep the offense balanced.
The hustle stats told the story of a team that refused to back down. Reiter Healey led the way with 6 ground balls, Tripp Burney added 5, and Michael Wirt had 4. Cohn also made his presence felt defensively with 3 caused turnovers, helping disrupt Broughton’s rhythm.
At the faceoff X, the duo of Michael Wirt and Sam Brewer delivered, combining for a 70% win rate. Wirt won 7 faceoffs (77.8%), while Brewer added 9 wins (64.3%).
The loss marks Athens Drive’s first of the season and shakes up the Cap 8 standings, creating a three-way tie at the top with Broughton and Millbrook.
Next up: The Jags hit the road April 13 for a showdown at Wakefield (8-2 overall, 4-2 conference).
