March 6, 2026 – Win at Apex High School
Final: Athens Drive 16, Apex 15
The Athens Drive Jaguars earned a gritty road victory Friday night, holding off a late surge from Apex to secure a 16–15 win in a fast-paced, back-and-forth contest.
Jay Cohn once again powered the Jaguars’ offense with an outstanding performance, tallying 8 goals and 3 assists while attacking the cage from every angle. Justin Stanert added 4 goals, providing key scoring bursts throughout the game, while Jack Danjczek contributed 2 goals. Harrison Baublitz chipped in with 1 goal and 2 assists to keep the offense balanced.
Additional contributions came from Ethan Klein, who added a goal, while Bradyn Evans dished out 2 assists and Hayes Clayton added another helper to round out the scoring effort.
The Jaguars also brought intensity to the hustle stats. Sam Brewer led the team with 6 ground balls and continued to control possession at the faceoff X, winning 57.9% of his draws. Tripp Burney scooped up 5 ground balls, while Michael Wirt and Cohn each added two.
Defensively, Bradyn Evans and Francell Gonzalez each forced turnovers, helping disrupt Apex’s attack during critical moments of the game.
Athens built momentum through the middle quarters before Apex mounted a strong push in the fourth, but the Jaguars held firm to close out the one-goal victory.
Next Up: The Jaguars will host back-to-back matchups this week with Green Hope on March 10 and Fuquay-Varina on March 11.
