Jags Cinch a Victory over Sanderson

April 8, 2025 – Win vs. Sanderson (1st Meeting) - In a stunning display of skill and teamwork, the Athens Jags dominated Sanderson High School. Jay Cohn was electric, racking up 7 goals and 3 assists, while Ryan Kuppler matched him stride for stride with 7 goals of his own. Harrison Baublitz added 2 goals and 2 assists, and Brower Evenhouse chipped in 2 goals and 1 assist. Bradyn Evans rounded out the scoring with a goal.

Defensively, the Jags brought intensity and hustle. Jack Thompson and Cohn led the ground ball charge with 6 each, followed closely by Baublitz, Evenhouse, and Michael Wirt with 5 apiece. Kuppler added 4 ground balls and joined Brower and Andrew Moore in forcing 2 turnovers each.

At the faceoff X, Michael Wirt was effective, going 18 for 30, while Evenhouse went a perfect 2 for 2. In goal, Gabe Sell was outstanding with 15 saves and a 71.4% save percentage, shutting the door on any Sanderson comeback attempts.
