Busy Week for the Jags

On Monday, April 24th, the Jags took to the field to play their 2nd game of the season against Cardinal Gibbons. It wasn't pretty with the Crusaders beating the Jags 15-1. Carson Andrews scored the only goal and Liam Craig went 8 for 13 at the face-off, for a 61.5% win percentage. The JV team didn't fare any better, with the final score being 10-2. Harrison Baublitz scored both goals.

BUT on Tues, April 25th, the Jags came back strong -- beating the Wakefield Wolverines 20-6. The night was filled with some amazing achievements. Not only did goalkeeper Cali cKinnis-Castille break Athens Drive's single season total saves record (182) previously held by Jack Rogers with 184 saves, but Liam Craig ALSO broke Athens Drive's single season total face-off wins (259) previously held by Peyton Smith with 281 wins. CONGRATULATIONS CALI AND LIAM!

Congratulations are also in store for Willis Hester, who scored his first varsity goal -- and Bradyn Evans who had his first varsity assist. Great job, guys!

Goals were also scored by Jay Cohn (5), Carson Andrews (4),. Braiden Stanert (3), Zander Adkins (2), Tyler Fields (1), Caleb Deak (1), Wes Cohn (1), Brower Evenhouse (1) and Harrison Baublitz (1).

"Our team did a great job and we moved the ball well. We took advantage of the opportunities we created," said Baublitz (#16).

The Jags are now fighting for 2nd place in their conference standings, with play-offs starting next week. They will be up against the gold-helmeted Broughton Capitals on Thurs, April 27th -- rain or shine. Let's get 'em, boys!
