Athens Drive put together a full-team offensive showcase on Tuesday night, cruising past Rolesville 24–4 in a game that featured scoring from just about everywhere. The Jaguars had 13 different players find the back of the net and 14 players record at least one point.
Jay Cohn led the charge with 7 goals and 3 assists, while Harrison Baublitz handed out 4 assists. Michael Wirt and Oliver Bestimt each scored 3 goals, with Bestimt notching his first varsity goals. Bradyn Evans added 2 goals and 1 assist, and Hayes Clayton, Jack Danjczek, Tripp Burney, and Cole Andrews each finished with 1 goal and 1 assist.
Athens also got first varsity goals from Mike Shook, Francell Gonzalez, and Ryan Hartmere, while Ethan Klein and Reiter Healey each added a goal of their own to keep the score rolling.
At the faceoff X, Michael Wirt was dominant, winning 11 draws at a 68.8% clip while also leading the team with 10 ground balls. Tripp Burney added 6 ground balls, Harrison Baublitz had 5, and Tymon Kozlowski chipped in 4. Oliver Bestimt, Reiter Healey, and Cole Andrews each collected 3 ground balls as Athens controlled possession throughout the night.
Defensively, the Jaguars stayed sharp and active, with 9 different players recording a caused turnover in a balanced team effort on that end of the field as well.
